No one is saying that Boehner is the answer. However, Ted Cruz's bullheadedness is not helpful either

Democrats are winning elections. We must make our case for more economic freedom, rallying against DC doesn't sell nearly as well.

Ted Cruz is a disaster for the GOP and the country as a whole. While I don't disagree with many of his positions, I can say that his decision making leaves much to be desired. Republicans need votes from the people who elected John Boehner. We need votes from the people who elected Jeff Flake. We need votes from the people who elected Paul Ryan. WE NEED ALL THE VOTES WE CAN GET. You don't hear Dems attacking each other at every turn.

Right. So we should just let the Dems control the country. Brilliant.
Sometimes I wonder if Bush was the last of an era. While I was no fan of the spending that he and the rest of the GOP embarked upon (although I can excuse a bit of it because of fear after 9/11 and the Y2K bust), GWB was a man and a leader. He acted with integrity and conviction. He believed in the principles of America and was respected (if not liked) by the rest of the world. The softening of America is ongoing, but a strong leader can help us turn the corner. Susana Martinez, Marco Rubio, Mike Pence, and several others are our best chance.
Listen I like Goldwater, but his message (and more importantly the way he spread it) cannot win a general election. In my opinion the "grassroots" of the Republican party helped get Obama elected twice. Most prominently in 2012. Until the GOP "base" realizes that we need to get more people into our party, not kick people out.....we will continue to lose national elections.
Obama rose to prominence based on a DNC speech that spoke of bringing the country together. The general public don't know or understand policy, they understand feelings and their own pocket book more. Reagan won because he made people feel good about being an American. He rejuvenated a country reeling from 4 years of the Carter Malaise. As much as I would like to say it was Reagan's conservativism that won him the White House, it was more his communication style. The American people want a positive communicator with clear ideas, who appears to care for them. The GOP better find someone who meets that criteria, or we will lose in 2016.
Goldwater. Hey being a Goldwater isn't a bad thing, unless you are running for a national office. Ted Cruz has a place in the party, he just isn't the guy to be President. He will always have a place to help keep the GOP to the right, but his antagonism and pessimism will now allow him to win a national election.
Conservative need to begin making culture, not attacking it. Engage in mainstream culture and you will begin changing minds.

Let us just make this clear. This entire thing has NOTHING TO DO WITH FREE SPEECH. Any employer can fire you for speech they deem unacceptable. However, A&E's reaction has been just stupid. Most of the articles that have attacked Mr. Robertson are full of ignorant views of the Biblical message and blatantly ignore all of Mr. Robertson's comments. The Bible is very clear that homosexuality is a sin, however it is also clear that no sin is above another. While your desire to engage in sexual activity with someone of the same gender may feel "natural", God says that this is not the way you were intended to be. He says for you to be fully happy you must fight these desires (just as a married man must fight his "natural" desires to sleep with other women). God tells us how to live to get the most out of life, but the only thing He requires is that you put your faith in Jesus Christ, Love Him, and Love your neighbor. Loving your neighbor includes loving homosexuals, Muslims, etc. We must love our neighbors, desiring what is best for them and reflecting God's love and forgiveness out from us.
