jsullivan154: You seem to be following the line that CO2 carbon dioxide is a 'pollutant', the same as say CO carbon monoxide from automotive exhaust... They are not, and correcting this misinformation would be one step towards solving the problem...
As far as I'm concerned the author of the article is simply being honest and got it right- Perhaps 'Spirit of 67' you would be better be called 'Recreate'68'
Lies? How off the mark can you be Matthew466 (today this is your name at least)? Dr. Carson simply mentioned a few groups of people who have been trying to change the definition of marriage- he did NOT say they were 'in bed' with each other otherwise....
Not necessarily, LD- GM has many, many shareholders, but whoever owns the largest percentage of stock, i.e. 20% vs everyone else at 11, 8, 15 % etc. would still have the largest share...also, the US govt. would seem to have made huge investments in GM stock for pension and IRA plans etc., this may not be apparent from shareholder percentage stats...

LD sez: 'Those who are leaving still owe a debt to those who require state assistance, and they should not be allowed to skip out on their debt.' Maybe you're just kidding...the people with the assets have been paying their 'Fair Share' (gotta laugh at that phrase) all along and the majority of the taxes as well- the people who have been conditioned to take services without expecting to pay for them should help pay down these debts, i.e. those who have been living off their neighbors backs, including those working who haven't been contributing into their own social welfare plans...I say tax all at the same flat percentage, say 15-20%....seems Eastern Bloc countries have embraced the concept, Russia is at 13% for example..
Thank you andrew299- I couldn't have said it better myself- it's wrong that people are being conditioned to demand 'my free stuff' without any thought of paying- seems to me paying down this stunning debt could happen much more quickly if the half that aren't paying fed taxes (but who consume a disproportionate amount of services) would start chipping in....
Actually hugh_Jass_III, I am puzzled about what you mean when you say 'but this forced title just gets tiring' ... Ms. Malkin is telling the truth in this title and article when describing the way too cozy relationship between this president and big labor, and the purpose behind the impending strike- maybe YOU are part of the group that is being called out for this behavior, or just attacking someone YOU don't like, eh?
Actually a PhD who claims no axe to grind one way or the other did a study that shows on average the children of gay adoptive parents, when later interviewed as adults, are 7 times more likely to voluntarily engage in a gay relationship- so why the charge of anger and pain? The hypocrisy and venom of uber-liberals is aimed at mainstream white America- but not Black and Muslim cultures- who reject the gay lifestyle and initiatives to a much larger degree. Ms. Parker is making the point that the definition of marriage is between a man and woman, as the article has laid out the case for such... in my view it is extremists who have already shown a history of using any legal gain to force others to violate their deeply held beliefs.
Thank you Larry, for another insightful article- I worked with a man from Newark, NJ, who was a part time janitor on 2nd shift just trying to earn more money for his four kids and wife- he stayed on until he got his 'refund' after taxes and found he got knocked into higher tax bracket, then just felt they were taking too much and quit. What a shame- a progressive tax system can deter someone not just like this, but why would entrepreneurs undertake larger ventures as well, if the rewards for such risks and responsibilities are disincentivized as well? The prospect of O implementing more of this seems to be a credible reason for business to leave the USA even more so...
Not sure where you are going with that one...

Hey Xtra (this is your name today at least)... Didi you happen to contemplate the effect of the Sept. 11th 2001 attacks on our economy, hmmm? I know, I know- all disease, earthquakes, mold, and bacteria are caused by republicans / conservatives too.
