Yea, they were tolerant - they tolerated MASS MURDER - Stalin starved, froze, worked to death, and shot 40 million. Mao -about the same with his ill-advised and failed agricutural and "industrial" 5-year plan. Try Pol Pot - anyone who wore glasses was shot because the Khmer Rouge emptied all the cities, organized collectives and beat workers who didn't have the knowledge or the tools to grow food By the way, how does a vote take place in a totalitarian state - there's only one group of thugs on the ballot? Did you know Stalin invented the electro-mechanical suction machine to mass-produce abortions. Why? He wanted women to work in his factories. If a woman had a third child, the family rations were CUT!

Isn't it amazing that the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was an eugenicist and wanted to prevent the "inferior race" from reproducing. How the left-wing and radical femiinists can praise this woman tells us the moral universe in our country is turned upside down. She wasn't much of a mother - she abandoned her two children when she divorced their father. Very totalitarian-type New England woman, would make a great FLOTUS. I read a biography of her life this past summer. Her"do-gooder" ideas were according to what she thought was beneficial -sterilization of poor people, & people she thought not "smart".

Have you heard of the "Liverpool Care Pathway" used by the UK's government hospitals? It's a little like end of life abortion. The patient is denied fluids and injections and powerful muscle-relaxing drugs are injected in increasing doses. The average time between inception and death is 28 hours. When it was adopted for the entire UK about 15 years ago, the proposers "said" it would be used only if the family consented and the patient was hopelessly compromised. Not so, according to many anecdotal stories on the UK Daily Mail. A recent story showed this was used on babies born full term but with very diffficult congenital issues - it told the story - it takes 10 days for a infant to die of drhydration - and the staff is traumatized.

Back in the late 1970s, an OB nurse became irate at a patient who checked in for her third abortion at the 5-6 month gestation stage. This woman enjoyed staying in the hospital overnight. The patient had ignored the prior "go home" prep talks about how easy and convenient contraceptives are to use to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Well, this nurse did something she probably would be arrested for today. On the third abortion, she cleaned up the little baby, put it in a clean stainless steel pan (the normal procedure, even if very premature babies are born alive) - and she took the pan with the perfectly formed but dead tiny baby to show the woman who aborted it. My friend said the woman screamed and screamed. She never came back.
CASO CERRADO, The 14th amendment needs to be repealed. In France, and other European countries, a child born in a hospital receives a "birth notice" which either parent can take back home or take to the local embassy. France is full of pregnant North Africans staying with relatives who are hoping they can get French citizenship for the baby, but the French say no, go back where you came from Also, France requires three IDs to vote (all on one daY), an official picture ID, a Voter letter from the government tellint him where to go vote - and some other, I forget. Imagine if a 19-yr old American girl went to Mexico city with her Mexican boyfriend, had 3 children , and then demanded free food, low cost apartment, free medical. Ha!

re: "A college grad wrote about getting on the program in an emergency but how it's structured to kick people off abruptly at certain economic levels." Another informative article, Charles. Most people don't realize families with $30,000+ of cash & free benefits must stay under the government income trigger or be kicked off. This is easily done by keeping W-2 wage income low. How do I know? Saw it with my own eyes in Brooklyn. - welfare families in which the husbands spent a LOT of time in the coffee houses. My particular neighborhood housed immigrants from a single language group. Apparently their children are growing up with the idea that striving doesn't pay.

Here's a metaphor for you. Do you remember one of the most powerful scenes in movie history? "I coulda been a contenda" from Marlon Brando's "On the Waterfront". Millions wept. Of course, Mr. Brando's future was tanked by his brother's union, not a wicked free market. But it was tragedy all the same, as the wicked who hunger for power (the euphemism for M-O-N-E-Y) will stop at nothing. Power is not much good without massive money. The ruling class has just about run its course of massive borrowing, so what's to do? MASSIVE taxation.
