That response wouldn't have worked either. Then the big story would have been "Rubio claims that God talks to him and tells him what to do!". We live in a "gotcha" era, but most of the "gotchas" are reserved for conservatives. As I pointed out previously, candidate Obama said that he believed God created the universe and that it may or may not have been done in 6 days. That was never trumpeted as a reason to disqualify him from the presidency, or to take away his science bonafides. Virtually any answer to any question disqualifies conservatives. Harry Reid calls Romney a bad Mormon. Biden says Republicans want black people in chains. Obama says there are 57 states, misquotes the Declaration of Independence, and problem.
