We Must be aware what is happening in this country. Our turnout in the Primaries was pathetic. Here we go around the World promoting Democracy. We are suppose to be the cradle of Democracy and we only have 28% showup to vote in a general Election. In '08 the turn out was up because of the excitement of "Hope & Change." (34% ) Even that result was not impressive. If we want a REAL represenative Government, we need more Voters. Some Political Groups count on low voter turnout to get Marginal Canididates Elected.

Just remember that the US is not a "democracy". It is, by careful design, a "representative republic". Look it up.

Why bother voting when your choices are Obama (D) and Obama (R)?

Obama is so far to the left that he makes a moderate look conservative.

One of the political groups who relied on low voter turnout were the Founding Fathers, who wanted no part of a democracy. In 1792, typical State voting restrictions would have been: only free, white, male, Christian, property-owners who could pay the poll tax, read, were over 21, and never been convicted of a felony could vote. If we went back to the voting restrictions the Founders of the United States considered reasonable, I believe that no Democrat would've been elected President in the 20th Century, and the US would still be a fundamentally free country.

The Constitution is specifically designed to protect us from democracy. Democracy is the enemy of freedom.

Hate to risk my words coming back to haunt me, but it sounds good to me. A person should have some skin in the game to vote, and not be just a parasitic leech.

Elected???? One qualification would be nice to have and that would be the ability to READ.

Look up the defination of Democracy. An example of a Democracy is a religious institution. All work for the good of the community.

The Founding Fathers created a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy. This Republic has been slowly torn down by democrats over the years, trying to make this a democracy, but In the last 5+ years (last 2 years of Bush II 2nd term and 3+ of Barry), democrats have been turning this country into an an internation communist state, ignoring the Constitution and run by executive order.

CANTON, Ohio-Rudy is the quintessential average white guy, right down to his last name. "It literally is Guy," he said, laughing at the irony.

Born in New Eagle and raised in Charleroi in Pennsylvania's Monongahela Valley, Guy comes from a long line of Democrats. "My grandfather worked at Corning Glass, my father worked in the mines, the steel mill and finally at Corning," he recalled. "The family always had union ties, and that usually meant a tie to the Democratic Party."

That's no longer true for him, however: "As my life started to improve financially, I realized that unions seemed to...
