if the GOP holds to its guns, it gets blamed for taking us over the cliff. if the GOP comrpomises and the economy gets better (ok, play along for now), Obama gets the credit and the GOP gets blamed for not doing enough. if the GOP folds, the GOP will get blamed regardless of the economy for the 2 years it held the House (like Bush is still being blamed). no matter what, the GOP will be blamed. I was ready to say give Obama what he wants but after more thought, the GOP may as well hold to its guns. however, the GOP needs to explain economics to people and liberty, etc. The problem is that the RINOs can't seem to grow a spine because as long as they have power, they are ok.

No Time to Give Up in the Fiscal Fight

If I keep reading the advice of those who are saying we should give Barack Obama what he wants, let him take the American economy into the quicksand and make him own it, I am going to be tempted to agree.

So I’m going to stop reading such things.

With respect to those who offer that strategy, it is flawed on multiple levels. It may not work, it would confuse people about what conservatism is and what it does, and it would slam the brakes on our most valuable passion right now-- the desire to save what we can...
