Goshdarn: How many tax dollars do the Boy Scouts receive?

I agree, there shouldn't be public funding for any of these things. Bo government parks, or government "public facilities open to all", and especially no funds directly to these groups.

Government needs to provide the basic service it was instituted for, property security and contract enforcement, and leave the rest to charity.

Oh, please. If you wear your gay rights awareness rainbow on your shirt while eating a sandwich in a public park, does that count as a taxpayer subsidy for gay rights? BSA troops meet in all kinds of facilities including public school lunchrooms, churches, private homes, etc., etc.

When they use public facilities open to all, that is a tax payer subsidy. Go rent a private facility and be as exclusive as you want, but not on my tax dollar and not on the excluded kid's tax dollar.

Gays can be leaders. Women can be leaders. Without realizing it, I think gays and women inadvertently work against their own objective of equality when they force private organizations to support gay and female leaders.

As I wrote here, gays and women are already equal before the Constitution, which defines us by our humanity, not by our sexuality, and is silent on most personal matters like marriage. Furthermore, the more the federal government defines our rights, the less free, equal and human we all become.

Here is what generally happens when minority groups confuse social acceptance with equality...
