OpenMinded-Flaming-Liberal... The worst women have to offer in a male body... breathe dude breathe... The thing about the SNL imbalance, is that simple minded Americans (probably high at the time of viewing) believe this stuff to be real... and then parrot it about, making other simple minded Americas squak it too, until people in general think it's the truth... This is the Clintonian Democrat way... keep repeating the lie until it becomes the truth in the minds of the people... Sadly, it works tooooooo great... It's frightening how many people, Conservative and Liberal, write on blogs like this simply repeating what their favorite reporter has told them...

Wow. Your fondness of elipses and sweeping generalizations makes it hard to glean much meaning from your post, but I'll give it a shot. ;)

So, are you saying that the danger of comedy is that people, many of whom might be smoking marijuana, might think it's real? Hmm.

Well, I'll play along, sans insults. What do you propose? A sort of comedy police that makes sure that any satire is fair and balanced? Perhaps someone in standards and practices "keeping score?" Because policing of entertainment content sounds suspiciously like what a lot of Communist nations practiced, no?

Okay - I'm truly sorry I opened a thread of communication that may become vitriolic. If someone had labeled themselves an "open-minded conservative" I may have made the same comment. Anytime we label ourselves, we imply - however subtly - that we're not overly receptive to opposing points of view. I was just amused.

There are stubborn people on both sides of this fence, but of my acquaintances, those who call themselves liberal tend to be more vocal and strident, and one in particular, very angry if I don't agree with every point he makes.

But once more to OpenMindedLiberal - you told me your size, your color, your sexual orientation and your philosophical "bent". You told me nothing about what kind of person you are.

I appreciate the olive branch. No harm done. Not incidentally, however, it leads me to my answer to your question.

Admitedly existing somewhat out of what a lot of people consider to be "the norm," I think those factors you mentioned are a huge part of who I am. Not because I happen to follow any agenda, per se, but I think that they inform a sort of curiosity that I have regarding people of all walks of life. That being said, a political website isn't exactly the kind of place one states that they like cooking, black labs and rockabilly music. But I do.

Also, kudos on the pun. Seriously. Well done -- I almost didn't "catch it." :)
