outlined in this article, the bill will not be put into practice. As it is unconstitutional by taking away the industry's ability to assess risks and charge accordingly. Also, the insurance market is a highly competitive market... and being such does not require intervention.

If the government wants to cover the uninsurable, they should focus their attention on that and find a way to do it without impacting the private market place that serves the wants and needs of 85-90% of us.

Everyone has access to insurance... at what ever level we choose to enter it. We need to be free to weigh our needs against our resources.

When did this simple concept get lost?
SHOCKED I say! You mean that the liberals in congress just ignored the principles of the constitution, when working 20 some straight days to give us our christmas present.

I guess they do know what we need... and if they know, they can just ignore those radicals who wrote such a document!

Shouldn't it be stricken down just because they referred to it as a "Christmas Present" for the american people? Isn't Christmas a religous holiday? I'm SHOCKED!
talks about loosing our liberty for securing, but he has no problem with taking it away so that the uninsured have health insurance. How did this guy get into the senate? He doesn't have a clue... and is part of the problem!

I could have sworn I heard Joe Biden tell the senate staff when he arrived, that "He is from the government and he is here to help!

Thank goodness this bill is passed, because my health insurance bill for next year was going to go up $16 a month. We had no idea how we were going to handle that out of control increase ($192 for the year) if it continues in the future we were going to have to sell the house... now we know we don't have to worry because Obama is going to make it go higher BUT he will subsidize us so we don’t have to worry about the increase next year.

Thank “Obama” for that!

continue to pay the high price of the premiums and go out of business... or pay a $750 per employee fine and continue to support their families.

That's OK, because I am sure that they will ALL pay any money that would have gone to health insurance premiums to their employees as an increase in take home pay.

Don't worry, I heard Obama talking with Pelosi and Reid last night and he was telling them to just let everyone know, "Not to worry, they are from the government and they are here to help!"

I wonder who the congress thinks will get to spend the fine money? If the fine is for not exercising your 'right" to purchase affordable insurance... and the "right" is mandated so that everyone will purchase the insurance to help spread the risk of the insurance companies who now have to accept anyone who wants to exercise their mandated "right... then those fines should go to the insurace companies to pay for those individuals who don't exercise their mandated "right" to help spread the risk out among a larger group.

BUT I'm betting that the fine money will go to the government to help pay for the new departments. Becasue if it doesn't, they may have to raise some taxes and The PREZ said that would not happen... not one thin...
