Chuck Todd: If Lincoln Were Dealing with These Republicans, We'd Still Have Slavery

Yes, Republicans were ambivalent about effectively running the war in Iraq. Most important to them was their precious tax cut. John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee said the USA could spend 100 years completing the social engineering project in Iraq. Every Republican applauded, knowing that the precious tax cut came first, and dumping the entire bill for the war onto the national credit would be maintained forever. In WWII, Americans on the home front were willing to sacrifice. People paid increased income taxes, victory taxes and had money deducted from their weekly paychecks to buy war bonds. And subjected themselves to food and fuel rationing.

I do not recall McCain ever having said that -probably just another B.S Lie that Democrats make up too fit their agenda or purpose of the moment along with re writing of history and the teaching or rather programing of it in schools -it has become disgusting what they have done to students -brainwashing should be for commie countries like China-North Korea and despots like Iran and Chavez etc....
And many Democratic Senators were all for charging in to Iraq such as Hillary and Kerry and Kennedy and THAT is on film mr Bluenote !

Today's Republicans are not willing to sacrifice other than by getting their mouths on the teat of the government sow.

The 'Greatest' generation of the 1940's were tough; these odious and contemptible Republicans of the 21st century should be, henceforth, referred to as the 'Moronic' generation.

First off, when has McCain been right about much? Second, the list of pork barrel spending by democrats would take several pages to list.
Sure the Republicans have spent way too damn much, but that's nothing compared to the moron in office now. Why do you think the Rep. leadership is purging committee assignments? It's because of the tea-party. The movement founded because both parties are irresponsible, the democrats being worse. Boehner is a joke for a leader and so is McConnell in the Senate. The republican party needs to clean house.

Not his words, you must understand.  Just a "depressing" observation from a "very smart" White House aide:

Joe Klein -- last seen beclowning himself on Benghazi -- gets a big laugh at this line because it's so true, right?  Republicans are just the worst.  Lincoln would have never been able to handle this bunch of radicals.  Maybe this "very smart" White House source should go re-watch Lincoln, or re-read his history books.  Congressional Republicans were the ones who
