The telltale sign of an ideologue is the inability to learn from mistakes, since all inputs are filtered through obsessive and inflexible preconceptions. There's plenty of blame to go around, but I will single out President Obama for special criticism because of 1)lack of leadership, 2)a pathetic attempt to control the discussion by shrouding it in secrecy, and 3)unwillingness to make significant budget cuts except in the Dept. of Defense.
Whenever this subject comes up in Colorado, the Left always waves the bloody shirt of Amendment 2, whether it applies to the current situation or not. While I believe that our state makes it altogether too easy for voters to change the constitution, and the amendment process has been used by politicians to avoid putting their careers on the line over hot-potato issues, TABOR is one thing we did right. At least we are not the basket case that is California.
Reality check: Obama is a CHICAGO POLITICIAN who has lately gone national. You can tell if the Mob has infiltrated your business when:
1. It looks, smells, and feels like a front for something sinister.
2. Executives become obsessed with feathering their nests and offering cushy positions to their friends at the expense of profitability, honesty in business dealings, and competitiveness.
3. Leaders are rewarded rather than punished for running the business into the ground.
4. The financials are totally unreal by design.
There's no need to beat a dead horse - we voted a CHICAGO POLITICIAN and his cronies into office, and now we are paying the price.
Conservatives, we can't let trolls like rex cheapen the discussion! I notice my IQ drops 10 points when I read one of his remarks, so you've got to help me out here.

The fact that conservatives could see catastrophe coming up around the bend but were ignored by the legacy media and both houses of Congress does not mean we are guilty of condoning reckless spending, regardless of which party is in control. If it's wrong, it's wrong!!! It is better for us to seek out and support candidates who will take us on the road to responsible management of our still considerable resources than to go off on lame tangents such as blaming Bush.
My business sense tells me that someday Rush will be grateful to the NFL for turning him away from his efforts to invest in the St. Louis Rams. The investors who are trying to buy the team are taking a big gamble if they attempt to move it to Los Angeles, which has never been a big football town.

Not another party

Both major parties cannot afford to be smaug about remaining in business indefinitely. Look at how quickly the Whig Party fell by the wayside, and anti-slavery citizens coalesced around the Republican Party. This was during a time when the fastest form of communication was the telegraph, and that service was not uniformly available to all. History has a tendency to repeat itself.

By the way, the best deterrent to corruption is a vigilant and concerned citizenry. If we neglect our civic duty to remain informed and communicate with elected officials, we will get the kind of government we deserve.
