Bridging the ‘Marriage-Gap’

we don't like marriage so we're redefining it, that was one of the clearest commercials in the Super Bowl line up last night, we just redefine what we don't like. We've taken God out of every conversation in the political realm, even when the effects (such as you have documented here) are devastatingly clear. If our rights and standards don't derive from His revealed character, then there is no policy to be formed or championed by any party because the individual is the sole arbiter of truth. Our founders understood this and repeatedly held forth in this regard, but we refuse to be defined and shackled to something as stable as moral law. I applaud your efforts on one level, on another I believe you are spitting into the wind.

Straw man attack ! Gay marriage dsid not come about because some people"don't like" marriage ."
Nobody has taken conversation about God from politics; in fact, too many conservatives are trying to use religion to foster their theocratic agenda .
Liberals ar e not trying to "undermine" marriage. Poverty and difficult economic times have made it too difficult for so many people to have stable, lasting ,prosperous marriages . Stop blaming the victims !

We now live in a time where social welfare incentives have engendered unprecedented numbers of unmarried parents, causing record deficits. The inability to address this issue has politically-hobbled every Republican president since Reagan. Our government needs to take responsibility for creating this monster and start on a new path of adopting policies that are good for families.

The “marriage gap” carnage of 2012’s election forces us to confront the reasons for accelerating cultural decline since the days of Reagan. President Reagan had no pro-marriage social policy in his toolbox to counter liberal welfare and no-fault divorce.
