In response to:

How the GOP Can Build An Effective Relationship With The Black Community

This is good advice, Mr. Minor. I don't believe the Republican party should pander to any special group, but I do think they can do more to engage the black community. Of course, I think the black community has further soul searching to do. They must take some responsibility for at least some of the problems they face. Some of those issues have to do with the entitlement mentality that the Democrats have been pushing for several decades to get votes.

10% of black males are in prison. 70% of black babies are born without a father in their life. Unbelievable.

The minds in the black community have been poisoned by the Democrat uncle toms like Sharpton and Jackson. It's a cheap way for the Democrats to start an election with an 11% advantage. All the racial damage resulting from their incitement is acceptable collateral damage in their attempt to keep blacks on their Democrat political plantation.

It is ridiculous advice. REpublicans can't do anything to engage black voters because black voters know perfectly well teh Republican party despises them. All you have to do is read the TH comments and note teh utter lack of conservative willingness to confront the racism.

The black community has a LOT of soul searching to do. They know it perfectly well. But so do Republicans, and the voter suppression effort should be at the top of their list. Having a bunch of Republicans bringing back Jim Crow certainly won't help you.

John,

We are reading the comments and the only racist comments are comming from you. Face it, you have been trained from birth to hate whites and Republicans. And you think all Republicans are white. Do you know any white Republicans? Aren't you just parroting he Justice Brothers, Al and Jesse?

Allen West and Tim Scott are conservative Republicans and in case you missed it, they are black. Do you really think someone as honorable as Allen West would be a member of a racist organization? Condi Rice, William Connerly, and even the wishie/washie Colin Powell are Republicans. Did you miss that too? Take your blinders off.

John,

Republicans are all about getting ahead in life and pulling everyone along with us. What benifit would the Republican gain by keeping blacks down. We won't gain your vote by doing that. The Democrats are all about keeping minorities down and on the dole, beholding to the party that passes out the bread and cheese. But then maybe you are like the Justice Brothers wanting your people poor and stupid and beholding to the race hustlers.

Ahhh I get it. This is a really a teachable moment. You think I am black.

nuff said.

"Black voters know perfectly well the Republican Party despises them." Why? Don't black people vote?

Would my calling the Tea party a racist organization be confronting racism?

"Voter suppression?" Eric, is that you?

When you could make it up in your mind, life is so simple. There are no inconvenient truths.

Democrats are the ones who really think blacks are inferior.

Ah yes..Start right off with your own damn racism like any ignorant Liberal!
John5840 Wrote: Jul 25, 2012 6:34 PM
The sad part, Bill, is that a lot of conservatives believe people like you. It's one reason black folk, and increaingly, Hispanics, want nothign to do with you.
traitorbill Wrote: Jul 25, 2012 9:18 PM
Forget about race. Think conservative. We'll all end up in the same happier place. Eventually.

"The black community has a LOT of soul searching to do. They know it perfectly well." Oh, really? They know it so well that when Bill Cosby tried to implement some of that soul-searching a few years back, he was roundly vilified by that same black community which you believe is so willing to be enlightened. And if you think that voter ID measures are the equivalent of Jim Crow laws, then you are hopelessly naive at best, iredeemably proselytized at worst.

John, I live in the state of Georgia where we have a voter ID law. I have to show a photo ID whenever I go to the polls. I am white. My neighbors next door and across the street are black. We are all solid middle class. Now, if I have to show a photo ID and they have to show a photo ID, where exactly is the racism. In addition, we seem to be able to elect a pretty large number of black politicians in this state, so if the photo ID law is supressing the black vote, please explain to me how that is happening. If anyone plays the race card, it is Democrats and they do it by fostering dependence on government by trying to scare blacks into believing that Republicans will take away what the Democrats have so generously provided.
Pat2881 Wrote: Jul 26, 2012 10:43 AM
The irony in that is that the Democrats have enslaved blacks just as surely as if they had taken them to the slave market and auctioned them off to the highest bidder. The chains and whips have been replaced with a dependence on government that keeps many black in poverty and ignorance through welfare, poor educational opportunities and unemployment that breeds crime and substance abuse. Now please explain to me who is the real racist here.

The historic election of Barack Obama was an electrifying moment for the United States. The election of the first African-American President was a monumental step in racial equality and harmony. It was truly a sign that America is the land of opportunity and that regardless of race, people can succeed.? Obama has not been the only African-American Democrat to capture the attention of blacks. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Charlie Rangel and others have become a beacon in the Democratic Party. The GOP has also seen an increase of influence in the black community with the election of US Congressman Allen West,...
