While I do favor tort reform, I agree with your statements re: the McDonald's case. Most people never read the case and assume it was the woman carelessly driving with coffee between her legs. There's much more to it than that. It was insane what McDonald's did to her any countless other customers. On the same token, I think allowing frivolous lawsuits does more damage to legitimate cases of negligence (like Leibeck's)than any damage cap legislation ever has.
"How can you morons expect to get compromise or even be a part of the solution if you refuse to offer nothing but derision and scorn instead of IDEAS?"

Paul Ryan introduced H.R. 2520 (Patients Choice Act) to the House floor back in May. It's been referred to the Ways and Means Committee and has been sitting there ever since. You really think Pelosi's gonna let that see the light of day -- especially before her bill?
Yeah, how dare he mess with the economy of the 1970's. Things were going so well...
Again, HR 2520 is a bill. It's not an amendment (perhaps you have that confused with HR 3438). It was introduced on May 20, 2009. Where is it? Who decides what becomes of it? From the bill:

"Mr. RYAN of Wisconsin (for himself and Mr. NUNES) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently
determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned"

That's been in committee since May. Do you really think a Boehner bill is gonna get a committee vote before...
They also look like they could be related
Consider the fact that both Mikhail Gorbachev and Yasser Arafat won but Gandhi did not.

The interesting part politically is that it comes right before Obama announces how many additional troops he's going to send to Afghanistan (I'm assuming he will). I'd like to hear what the Nobel committee has to say after that.
You've been yapping on and on about how there have been no ideas, no bills put forth by Republicans. Well I pointed one out and now you're ignoring that because it wasn't the minority leader's. Why does that not count? What's more is that he was asked if the GOP's plan was to have one Republican plan (as if the Dems have had one solid plan all this time). That's a dumb question in it's own right. Up against a huge Dem majority, why would he expect a Republican plan to pass?

How is that not a bill?
Daggett is a liberal. He's not taking more votes from Christie than he is Corzine. Let them promote this fool all they want.
In the end, it's a business decision. Certainly Goodell didn't need to make his statement. And let's not pretend like we've never seen inconsistency from the NFL brass. But let's also not pretend Limbaugh himself has never endorsed politically-motivated boycotts.

The funniest part of this is that people think Limbaugh is hurt by not having a chance to invest in the St. Louis Scrams. The more people that call him a racist, the more his name is in the news. And the more buzz, the higher his ratings. So who's the real loser, then?
