War on Capitalism

Capitalism is sort of like the weather--it can be nice, sunny and bright, but then turn ugly, causing severe discomfort and disaster. The war against capitalism has always been around, long before Karl Marx. Even Jesus said a few nasty things about the rich. What most people want is neither riches nor work, but rather, security and leisure. That's why socialism and welfare states are so popular with the masses--and why Obama won the election over a much better candidate than himself.

Actually, there isn't a single, solitary thing about capitalism that is "ugly". The things described as ugly have nothing whatsoever to do with capitalism - usually coersive taking of property by the powerful/connected. Capitalism is neither mor nor less than the free exchange of value for value in the marketplace.

As each day goes by in the fiscal cliff debate, President Obama becomes stronger among the masses that view this as a fight between very rich guys against little guys barely making ends meet. Beyond the publicly fighting over tax policy, there is a battle waging in an area that businesses cherish most of all - the bottom line. It's all about greed and the notion of how much money is enough.

There is a growing consensus that profits should max out at some point and anything beyond that point is greed - the kind that hurts Americans.

I don't buy...
