My heart weeps for all you idiots who think there should be no boundaries in society. For the sense that there is no right or wrong. I have watched for years as people have gotten more angry and selfish and yes, downright mean and intolerant. I have never seen such intolerence as a liberal speaking to someone who doesn't agree with them. Everything is a right to you people. We have a right to healthcare, to abortion. We have a right to force you to think like us, to do what we think is right. . We have a right to free food, free birth control, free housing, free education. And you all are too stupid to realize that little by little your rights are being taken away. You will wake up one day and not like what you have turned this country into

I'm with you. They will truly be astonished to find that the gravy train eventually ends when everybody is riding it instead of building the trains, & the tracks, becoming engineers to run the train and all the work that goes into making a train (or a nation) what it is. I hope I am not around when anarchy hits.

"We have a right to force you to think like us, to do what we think is right. "

Actually it's mostly rightwingers who would force pregnant women to do what rightwingers think is right. Historically, it's been mostly rightwingers who supported the military draft and forced young men to go to war because rightwingers thought that was right. It's mostly rightwingers who support the so-called "war on drugs" because they want to force people to conform to rightwinger codes of conduct.

Liberal defenders of rights want people's rights to be respected, which is why the ACLU is considered a darling of the left and generally hated by the right. America was founded on the concept of people having rights so respect for those rights is American.

Again you just make things up. Which war? The Civil War? Lincoln for sure. World War I - wilson (dem), WWii - FDR (Dem) Korea - Truman (dem) Vietnam - LBJ (dem) - Nixon (Rep)-end draft - Ford (Rep) granted amnesty to draft dodgers Since Nixon all troops have been volunteers. Carter, Clinton, Obama fought WOD vigourisouly Libertarians oppose WOD - so did conservatives such as WFB Jr Dems could have defunded WOD easily when they were the majority ((2006 - 2010_ among others with a budgetary vote (requires 51%) but didn't - But you are correct on one item - the right does seem to value life more than the left that is true.

You may be too young to remember the Vietnam War but it generally it wasn't rightwingers protesting against the draft in that war, which is why the right took such delight in calling Clinton a draft-dodger, a refrain not heard much now that rightwingers are running their own draft dodger for president. Mohammed Ali was vilified mostly by the right, not the left, for refusing to be drafted.

As for the WOD, what does the word "mostly" mean in your world? I doubt even you are so deluded you believe the left supports the WOD more than the right and the associated draconian penalties but you rightwingers aren't known for your grounding in reality. Your statement about the Dems being able to "easily" end drug war funding is more evidence.

You know so little it is painful to even respond to you. .Anyone participating in the war knew it was LBJs war - the fracture was in the Democrat party. Ali’s draft board was composed of Democrats and most of his critics were southern dem Senators - WFB jr was a supporter. And how idiotic do you have to be? When you control the House, Senate and Presidency you “mostly” control the Legislature and Executive Branchs And budgetary actions require 51% vote which the dems had – nothing stopped them from defunding the WOD other than the fact they didn’t want to. You seriously need to stop just casting aspersions and focus more on reality and truth. As has been said before, you really don’t know much and every time you squawk you prove it

GSW: Woden is talking about right-wingers v. left-wingers. You're talking about Democrat administrations v. Republican administrations. Dem doesn't always = left-winger. Republican doesn't always = right-winger.

The truth is, both groups (conservatives and liberals) try to demand that others go along with their views. In my opinion, though, speaking in generalities, conservatives tend to stand on firmer, more logical ground, more often than liberals do.

Having said that, there is plenty of loose ground that many conservatives stand on.
Veteran reporter Sharon Waxman knew she'd found a new low. Reporting from the Toronto Film Festival, she revealed the viewpoint of director Nick Cassavetes, which she summarized in a headline: "Who Gives a Damn? Love Who You Want." The topic was incest.

Hollywood's march to tear down -- to obliterate, really -- every boundary of sexual decency should compel even the harshest accusers of social conservatives like Rick Santorum to apologize profusely. They were wrong to mock conservatives for warning of the extremes, as we're lurching so quickly and easily into the darkest "love who you want" extremes of the...
