The Libertarian Case for Life

Probably the main problem with CPAC is that it exists. :) You seem to be trying to tie being anti-gay with being pro-life. There is no reason why pro-lifers should be anti-gay. And it is really sad that the Executive Director of Students for Life would take such a position, given that polls show youth overwhelmingly reject that connection. America's youth, including the students you claim to represent, tend to be pro-life and pro-gay. Quit trying to force "conservative" claptrap on students. Maybe you should resign your position, and someone more in line with student views put in your place. Or have the right wing money bags bought your organization?

National Anthem is an "Abomination"

{Part 2] The U.S. invaded Canada several times, with the objective of conquering territory. Both sides committed what could be fairly described as war crimes. The war ended in a stalemate. There is a much better alternative - America the Beautiful. It is a much more positive celebration of our great country.

The anthem does not appear to me to be a bravery comparison, altho I can see it might be considered by some to be implied. That's never been an issue for me. I know of no research which would show that Americans are more brave than people of other countries, but does the anthem state they are? My main beef with the anthem is that it glorifies war. Should the prime thing we be proud of be our proclivity to warring? I don't think so (I actually think it's the primary thing we need to change). And the War of 1812? The reasons and objectives were a very mixed bag. There were some legitimate grievances, but one must note (and this point was made in the official film when I visited Fort McHenry decades ago) that it also was a war of aggression.
