Hammer, meet nail. If our President and Congress can't pull off this amount of cutting, we really are looking like Greece.
Of course Reid called his bluff, why wouldn't he? All the Dems would have to do is to vote it in and then re-offer a more balanced approach, leaving in the items they really wanted in the first place, knowing the Repubs would cave at that point to get anything back. Never offer an ultimatum when you are not willing to accept either choice. I learned that when I was 20. How old is McConnell? This is the GOP I am supposed to trust to forward conservative ideals? Clowns.

Paul Ryan never said the Janesville plant closed under Obama, he started that part of the speech by saying the plant was scheduled to close whihc Bush was President. Yet he was accused of lying. Obama's website and the DNC platform says "(Obama) saved the auto industry" yet plants in the south and Ford did not receive a bailout. So he is the one not telling the truth. Yet which story do you hear on the major networks?
The proof Reich is wrong is simple. If govt spending created prosperity, there would be no poverty in the world. Economics would be a simple thing, just have the govt spend more until things are better. Since this does not work, it is obvious Reich is wrong. If govt spending created prosperity, we would all be socialists. If govt action created fullfillment, we would all be communists.

I learn from Krugman every time he speaks. He is the perfect "reverse barometer". Simply take the opposite position of his every time and you will be generally correct.
