Why the War Party Fears Hagel

Pat is more right than wrong on the issues and him being 15 years or so older than me, I know what a difference it makes to be living and watch the news unfold and then look back on it in retrospect for context. All political activists need to today is catch-phrase and their own anger to make them feel right. They have no emotional control, no soul, have no real information and are political dupes. I always enjoy a good articulated common sense position, backed up by history and having lived through the times.

Well said. Unfortunately, we have people here who like to make accusations of anti-semitism to try and discredit Buchanan simply because they don't like his politics. They provide no evidence no argument to back up the claim. Just name calling. Thats when you know they don't have an argument.
In the fortnight since Chuck Hagel's name was floated for secretary of defense, we have witnessed Washington at its worst.

Who is Chuck Hagel?

Born in North Platte, Neb., he was a squad leader in Vietnam, twice wounded, who came home to work in Ronald Reagan's 1980 campaign, was twice elected U.S. senator, and is chairman of the Atlantic Council and co-chair of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.

To The Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol, however, Hagel is a man "out on the fringes," who has a decade-long record of "hostility to Israel" and is "pro-appeasement-of-Iran."
