I whole-heartedly agree! Most of our bread and butter manufacturing jobs (perhaps with the exception of food and medical instruments) are outsourced. Many big businesses are nothing but .... to the lowest bidder..China? India? maybe in the future Africa or Vietnam. After previous recessions, WE restocked the shelves with American products made with American labor. People got called back to their jobs...not any more. Add automation to the mix and you have a formula for the disaster that now exists.

Well Steve, perhaps you really do not work and just bloviate about how easy you think unemployed people have it. When was the last time YOU begged for food? Health care for your family? Food pantries get donations from individuals and local grocers. The needy who obtain their food do not have a choice of what they get. If you have a long standing illness like diabetes, high cholesterol or high blood pressure, the food you get may be high in sugar, carbs, fay and salt and not suitable for managing your disease, but as they say "beggars can't be choosers." Spend a half day at your local public aid office trying to get food stamps...that's a very humbling experience! Most of us did not choose to be out of work. I am pushing "60"like many...
