In response to:

Reject Gang of 8 Immigration Reform Deal

Sidebar here: Mexico had a single party in control of their government for 75 years or so. How well did that turn out? A country with abundant resources and industrious people - oil and lots of shoreline - and it is still a third world country with a few fat cats living large. Wholesale "immigration reform" will only put the Dems even farther out front and the Rep's could be a footnote in history like the Whigs.
The trip was full of symbolism and no doubt poll-tested phrases that "work." I would expect nothing less from the Reader of the Free World and his PR minions in the West Wing. He only went because he couldn't put it off any longer. I seem to remember headlines from the Middle East saying "What is he doing here?"
The original article on the ABC site doesn't tell what the AP Stylebook says to use instead of the allegedly derogatory term. I found that interesting. These are, indeed, strange times.........
Don't underestimate the power of his show. He helped derail more than one candidate. And, most kids get HBO for free living in the parents' basement....
Austin is just a watered down version of Bezerkeley, CA these days, right down to the pint-sized "Silicon Valley" there. THIS is how the weird stuff creeps into Texas.

The Islamification of Texas

Texas Independence Day is March 2nd. They don't cotton to this sort of thing.....
We must DO SOMETHING! Even it if saves just one life, it is worth it. Remember, when asteroids are outlawed, only outlaws will have asteroids.
I'm very pleased with Ted Cruz so far. He mopped the floor at the informal debates with his Dem challenger.
Agreed, voting Dem Lite instead of Democrat is not much of a choice, is it?
I think the pack was pretty lame when it started out. Remember, to run for president it takes a three year running start. First and second year of Obama he was flying high. Who in their right mind would want to challenge him? Why not "keep your powder dry" and wait for 2016? 'Course, to run in 2016, you need to get geared up in 2013 or '14 (provided a Republican didn't win the White House). There were some great gains in 2010, and I think the "tea party" can deliver again in 2014 if people just pay attention.
I've read in several places Obama didn't carry a single state with voter ID. Not sure that is true, but if it is, that's one more piece of the puzzle. Also, I've read Obama was elected in some areas and the rest of the election went to some Republicans for local / state offices. That's pretty hard to comprehend as well.
