In my youth, I recall some comments made by an old farm hand, while doing what farm hands do, was also an astute history buff and sharp political thinker. I never have forgotten what he said: "No military power on earth will ever be able to take this country by force, but she will because of her policies and like Rome, will destroy herself from within!".
