I have, for the umpteenth time, heard the argument advanced that if we impose a travel ban on the countries in west Africa, "the fear is that health care workers wouldn't be able to get there." Really? Is it that hard to distinguish doctors and nurses from tourists? Would a travel ban keep the 101st Air Born or the National Guard from being deployed there? Is there no argument so specious as to be unemployed by the Politically Correct?

She'll just sing and dance her way into your heart.
As a disabled person, trying to make it through this world by paddling his own canoe, I find Wendy Davis' very existence to be offensive. That said, I do wish that Greg Abbot, who has my vote, wouldn't position himself as a disabled person. He's disabled, yes, but so what? I would vote for him if he was "able to leap tall buildings in a single bound." What difference does that make, either way? Wendy Davis wants to sink Texas into the Progressive mire that is disabling the rest of the country and Greg Abbot wants people to rise to the exceptional or live in the mediocre based on their individual merits. That's all that matters and all that should matter.
Even if she does lose (and I will vote against her) there are plenty more like her who think that Texas will only be "fair" when we have a state income tax with which to buy votes from the endless parade of "victims" looking for a free ride.
Is his acting the part to be compared to the "black face" comedy of minstrel shows?
Seniors, hell! Anybody with any income will be negatively impacted by this war on coal. The environmental / global warming True Believers are simply willing to put up with the increased costs of energy because they are either young, rich, or both and really do not give a damn who feels the pinch. Feeling it is a primary feature of their faith in Gaia. It's not about "saving the environment." It's about imposing their pagan religion on everybody else.
The difference between cab drivers and other city workers is that one is not usually penned up with the sewer cleaner or the sanitation engineer inside a tiny vehicle for any period of time The Airport Authority owns the franchise, says who and who may not operate a cab (thus protecting the income of the cab drivers) and so the Authority can set the work rules. If there is any unfairness to the situation it may be that different foods, not always uncleanliness, cause a person to have a scent. Some cultures find other culture's scents to be offensive however clean the offender might be. How do you get past that?

"Osama bin Laden said, 'All that we have to do is to send two mujahidin to the furthest point east to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al-Qaida, in order to make the generals race there and cause America to suffer human, economic and political losses.'" If the analogy of Radical Islam replacing the former Soviet Union's International Communism is too strong, we can at least admit that Radical Islam learned well from Communism's example. International Communism, not the U.S. determined where we would respond to the Communist threat. With the possible exception of G.W. Bush's invasion of Iraq, Radical Islam has determined where and how we react to their predations. It eventually took proactive engagement by Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher to end Communism's "calling the tune," but look at the loss of blood and treasure and international chaos until they did.
Wonderful job. There needs to be a journalists' prize for the best use of Red Bull in the execution of an essay. Ignore cpurvis768. The hashtags were a nice touch. Keep it up.
