Liberals, like georgia_boy61, use pointless comparisons. georgia_boy61 pretends that the 90% tax was not the corrupt system that it was. The 90% tax meant that the wealthy liberals paid bribes to their congressman for "loopholes" to hide their income. Liberals say that they want to return to the days of corruption and good old boy favors. Liberals want to return to the days of bribes and corruption like Louisiana and other banana republics -- where money for levees is pocketed by corrupt officials instead of maintaining the levees. Liberals like corruption because liberals are by definition our only native criminal class.

Three years ago, I put together a “Moocher Index” that measured the degree to which non-poor people in a state were benefiting from redistribution programs.

As you can see if you click on the nearby table, Vermont was the worst state, followed by Mississippi, Maine, New York, and Massachusetts.
