The thing here is "Ms. D" uber Black Liberal touched on an important point that a lot of us Blacks without chips on our shoulders or who stopped feeling sorry for our selves a long, long time ago, who get into Ivy League Schools on our own merits or if we didn't go to school, worked hard to become successful-her point was working "twice as hard".
My mom who is 76 today told me when I was a rebellious teenage that the key to survival was working "twice as hard".
Just think Burt if most Blacks did that, we wouldn't need affirmative action, the majority our kids wouldn't lag behind the national norm and High School and College...

My wife and friends often find it bizarre that I answer every e-mail I receive from my readers, including those who merely write to insult me.
