I STILL haven't seen anyone explain why they need assault rifles...

Thank the Creator for the "Bill of Rights" versus the "Bill of Needs!"
johnnytentpeg Wrote: Jan 27, 2013 4:25 PM
Ps. The "politically corrupt" term is "Freedom Weapons", not assault rifles.

Uhhhh, kinda why its called "The Bill of Rights" versus "The Bill of Needs."

There simply is NO such thing as an 'assault rifle'. This is merely obfuscation to instill fear into the hearts of low-knowledge people and other hysterical chicken-littles. Guns are made for one thing only; delivering death. They are intended for self-defense, for hunting, target shooting and for war, if needed. If you are attacked by an assailant, it matters not whether he is using a gun, or knife, or bazooka, or an IED. The question we are faced with is, "Are we allowed to defend ourselves if attacked?" Our Constitution says that we are. Liberals and ALL tyrants say we aren't. Who are you going to believe? What we must do is, somehow, insure that no mentally deranged persons get their hands on guns. Just as with drugs, laws are imperfect

We don't need them because we can't get them since the 30's, unless Holder gets them to you via cartels in Mexico. We are talking regular guns, my dear.

assault style weapons are used by civilians for protection against gangs, thieves, rapists, murderers, third world countries and since obama OUR OWN GOVERNMENT."Assault weapons are used by the police and the military and are "Fully automatic" only law enforcement and the government can own fully automatic weapons,in the 2nd amendment it says "protection against the tyranny of the government",when obama decides to try and take our guns we will need assault style weapons to protect ourselves, obama will be sending "troop'S" to confiscate them,"troops is plural meaning more than one and no less than 20 or 30 to each home to collect your protection, most handguns can load only 8 shells, according to obamas law, with an assault style weapon with a 20 ro

Fully automatic "assault rifles" have been restricted under the NFA since 1934 and have never been documented to have been used in a "mass shooting" event. I own and prefer many variations of semi-automatic firearms for many reasons. How many rounds of ammunition would you need and how fast would you need them to defend your family in a home invasion? Please do not answer this question for others by restricting our constitutionally guaranteed rights to self defense and gun ownership as further ensured by the SCOTUS in Washington DC vs. Heller.

Perhaps the question should be why this administration has determined that the executive branch has sole authority to determine that due process is served when directing drone strikes.

We do not have to explain. It's like asking you why you need the freedom to be allowed to post your opinions. We have a bill of rights that prevents the government from passing laws that unduly inhibit our exercise of these rights.

Right! and they know it, but with so many listening to sound bites and not keeping up with real news instead of listening to the MSM, they are ill-informed and ignorant of what is really out there and come on to this forum to spout their ignorance and know nothing of reality that is not on the TV! Just think: England is now trying to ban kitchen knives which takes us back to being primitives.

Independent, it is not an assault rifle, it is a personal defense weapon. You have been reading to much of the New York Times. Read something else other than the Left Wing News Media rags please.

Most of us don't "need " them. But so what? We want them. Why should cars go more than 75mph? Why should sports cars be legal? They're dangerous. America is America because you can have what you want.

Also, competition shooting. This often requires large ammo capacity and these so-called "assault weapons".

"Assault weapons" encompasses most rifles on the market, because the term USA misnomer. Technically, an assault rifle is a fully automatic or three round burst rifle, which unless made before 1968cannot be purchased legally anyways. To buy one you have to go through much more of a background check, wait a long time, and pay $20,000+. Funny how we still see those all over the streets.
C. R.4 Wrote: Jan 27, 2013 2:16 PM
Hey, criminals know how to get them. And then check with Holder handing them over to Mexican cartels.
jimmyjames4 Wrote: Jan 27, 2013 1:51 PM
Define Assault rifle, if you can, then google the Constitution, look under 2nd Amendment, it reads: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of the free State, the right of the people to keep and bare arms, shall not be infringed.
I can legally own a semi-automatic weapon, be it a pistol, shotgun, or rifle, whether it resembles a military or police weapon makes little difference.

You mean an explanation you will accept don't you? You define yourself Sir.

obama believes he owes NO ONE AN EXPLANATION for what he is doing and that is "arming the enemy" to attack the U.S. and ALL THE DEMOCRATS are supporting him

Our government should be issuing Bushmasters to our citizens to counter the weapons they gave to our enemies.

You have to give progressives credit. They’re nothing if not thorough. When an opportunity to limit the Second Amendment presented itself in the Sandy Hook massacre, regardless how tasteless it was to exploit that opportunity, they went full bore toward their goal.

Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Calif., introduced sweeping so-called “assault weapons” ban legislation this week that would place unprecedented restrictions on individuals’ rights to own, use, sell and even pass along already owned firearms to family members. But given where things stand now in the polls and political atmosphere, that legislation will go nowhere.

But the Constitution and the...
