Nixon "improved relations with China"? He recognized that bandit regime when no Demoncrat could have done it. That is a famous trick of the liberal establishment - when something is so outrageously communistic that no Demoncrat would dare do it, they get a so-called "Conservative Republican" to accomplish the dirty deed. Campaigning as a Conservative but always acting as a liberal/commie Nixon (in accordance with the Rockefeller wing of the Republican party) did as much to help destroy this nation as a Republic as any President who ever lived. In Vietnam, he campaigned on "peace with honor'. Never once did the word 'victory' cross his lips (I was present at one of his speeches). After his surrender/retreat/withdrawal, with none of our troops on the ground, his fellow travelers in the Demoncrat Congress did the only "rational" thing from their point of view: Cut off funding and air support and throw our allies to the wolf pack. Domestically, his announcement that "We are all Keynesians now" was a signal to the fascist elites on both the left and the right that the spending party was to go on regardless of the nation's economic situation.
Do what I do: Call them Demoncrats.

Steve, You may as well give up your campaign against these spammers. Obviously Townhall doesn't care or they would block them. Perhaps the spammers are a revenue source for Townhall? The only way to hurt Townhall for their lackadaisical attitude toward these spammers is to stay away from Townhall and not raise their view count. If we all stay away for a season and their ad revenue goes down, they might wise up and do something about the annoying features of this website.

11 of the first 12 comments on this page are those disruptive spam ads for "working on the computer". When are you people going to get the trolls and spammers under control? This [fec@l matter] has been going on for years and you don't seem to care. Do these spammers generate revenue for Townhall? If they pay you for the privilege, then you people are bigger creeps than they are!

The Progressive Income Tax Turns 100

We have tried the sales tax here in Texas and it is simple and it works. The complexities of the income tax code are there, not because everything else has been tried and found wanting, it is because it serves the interests of the craven, greedy scum who write the laws and are in a position to give favorable treatment to particular groups - for a price. At the same time they are claiming to be using the tax code to punish those very groups.

?What? An income tax is inherently complex. There are literally thousands of ways to generate income and they all need to be defined in the Code - or so think the low-life scum who believe in punishing the successful by use of the tax code. Another reason for the tax code's complexity is to make it possible to make a criminal out of every citizen if the need arises - if the citizen gets too uppity for the government's comfort we'll slap him with a series of audits 'till he learns his lesson. Let's repeal the Income Tax Amendment and implement a national sales tax - as in the Fair Tax or some such. We could call it The Hooker, P**p and Undocumented Worker Tax Act.

Larry, You are absolutely correct. I remember loud cackling coming from the Mad House on the Mall. "Is he serious? This budget is dead on arrival!"

Progressives are low-life scum. Punish the successful, subsidize everyone else. But why should we be surprised? Their god, Karl Marx, was a low-life scum. Then they are shocked when people do things to escape their madness-induced policies. "But that's unfair!"
