By what leap of illogic do you maintain that to find the Hypothetical Prospect of the demise of one's Sworn Enemies a pleasant notion is to be anything but Rational? If Someone has Sworn to Destroy you would not being indifferent to their Hypothetical Termination be a kind of Irrationality? Or are you arguing the German Concept of Schradenfruede is Irrational? Or would you argue that to criticize Stalin, but not Ghandi is irrational? To quote the 20th Century's Greatest Philosopher, "It is as it does." The Irrationality lies in FAILING to draw a Moral Distinction between the Author of Failed Policies and a Better Leader.
