You may not be dense all the time, but you are this time. It's irony. The kind that can often be used to demonstrate the hypocrisy of the left. All her facts are historically correct. We led the national movement to "reform" marriage, make divorce easier and provide support for single mothers. Now we are trying to lead the nation to make marriage a vaunted and important institution, in the case of homosexuals. My guess is she doesn't oppose gay marriage, but does get a kick out of liberal buffoonery and hypocrisy. Probably not so much of a kick out of people who are simply being dense.

Marriage returned to the two-parent union of a 1950s sitcom on Tuesday as the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the legal challenge to Proposition 8, the California-voter-approved measure that banned same-sex marriage in 2008. Urging the court to overturn Prop. 8, attorney Ted Olson argued that the law stigmatized same-sex couples by consigning them to a status that labels "their most cherished relationships as second-rate, different, unequal and not OK."

It's a complete turnaround for California, the state that pioneered dismissing marriage as a meaningless legality. In 1976, the California Supreme Court recognized the notion of "palimony"...
