I saw a cartoon today that showed an IL auto license plate with the picture of two governors serving time. It said something to the effect that now the governors were making our licence plates. We need to add all of the rest of the Chicago mob now in Washington to those making license plates. Firing them is not near enough, they need to be sent to jail for a long, long time. I read an excellent article explaing that Holder could be charged with murder. If I can find it I will post the url. I think he and probably a numbers of others should be charged with murder. There are over 300 citizens dead in Mexico and of course at least one US Border Patrol agent. Everyone should be up in arms about this!

Good for them! I could not really understand what was said or what was going on. Most of it is pretty boring, but about 8 minutes into the video I got the message that John Lewis was being escorted off the field. He did not look happy. I had a friend once who taught preschool. She would always say everything 3 times and she explained that she was in the habit of doing that because it was necessary with 4-year-olds. That is what this video reminded me of. Also the sitting on ground, voting with fingers, etc. is very pre-schoolish

I just happened up on ab article in the WSJ which explained why the government cannot default on Social Security payments. Obama and Reid threatened that SS checks may not go out after August 2. Now I knew the President and the Treasury could choose which "bills" to pay and so would not default on the debt, but I did not know the rest of this. "By law the Treasury is bound to redeem any bonds presented to it by the Social Security Administration." The SS Administration has lots of bonds issued by Treasury when they raid the SS Trust Fund. Therefore, SS checks will go out on time. Unfortunately, I do not think the military has any such assurance.

Prior to 1950, we had high schools for the college bound and high schools for those not going to college who needed to learn a trade. After graduation, these trade-school students were prepared to enter the work force. Now, everyone is on the college-bound track, nobody is taught a saleable skill. But, everyone is not college-bound, nor or they college material. I believe that is why there are so many high school drop outs. I also l suspect that if these students were being taught something meaningful to them, and something they could actually see a point in learning (i.e., it would lead to a job), they would become more engaged in the learning process. Great post! The republicans should use your illustration. Most of us find it impossible to get our minds around "billion dollars," much less "trillion dollars." I even have trouble with "million dollars." Roy Beck (see http://www.numbersusa.com/content/content/3/3775) does an illustration with gum balls showing the world population with each gum ball representinga million people. As I watch this, I think "someone should do something like this will government spending." We need graphic illustrations.
