Do Gun Control Laws Control Guns?

Does it not appear odd to anyone that the first reaction everyone has when one of these mass shootings occur is, (We have to do something to make sure this never happens again). In reality it never will happen again even if nothing is done. Has there ever been a repeat mass shooting at the same location? I don't think so. Look. These awful events are caused by deranged people that for various reasons slip out of society and act out side the moral and ethical constraints of society. They are outlaws and the sad, simple, fact is that making more laws and regulations will never stop outlaws from perpetrating acts that are prohibited by society. Making more laws only places more people on the outside of the law.

To take it a step further, banning both assault rifles and high-capacity magazines won't stop them, either. Criminals and the deranged don't respect ink on paper saying something is banned.

Unless the Left thinks it can also CONFISCATE every banned weapon and magazine, they will still be out there for decades long after any new law or ban is passed. That's why this "ban" is nothing but a feel-good exercise for the Left. NO ONE will be ANY safer, not even the precious "cherlen." The only way to stop a deranged lunatic with a gun is with another gun. Otherwise, the police would show up with whistles and counselors to end a rampage. Trouble is, we can't wait for the police when someone is shooting right now and unless you or I are armed....

Media discussions of gun control are dominated by two factors: the National Rifle Association and the Second Amendment. But the over-riding factual question is whether gun control laws actually reduce gun crimes in general or murder rates in particular.

If, as gun control advocates claim, gun control laws really do control guns and save lives, there is nothing to prevent repealing the Second Amendment, any more than there was anything to prevent repealing the...
