The reason these universities are asking students if they are gay or straight has nothing to do with resources on campus for gay students. Basically, it will end up being a quota system. The universities will lower educational standards for gay's, give "gay" scholarships and assign quota's that each university has to have X number of homosexuals admitted regardless of GPA or SAT scores.
