How Mitt Romney Won My Vote

"I place ideology above party loyalty. It is true that I will not vote for any Democrat under any circumstances, not even if they seek my vote for local dog catcher" But what if the Democrats embrace policies that comply with your ideologies? If you value ideology over party loyalty then that would be a circumstance where you should vote Democrat. (inb4 'but democrats will never embrace my ideology!' it's still a possibility). "I place good play over team loyalty. But I will never support any team other than the Patriots!"

Doesn't happen in reality. Even if that is what they say they will do, Peelousy and Reid will not allow anyone to break ranks and vote any way except the party line. If they do, they will be outcast and not receive any party money or help for re-election. They all know this. Zell Miller was the last 'conservative' DemonRat and they kicked him to the curb.

Back in May of 1999, I made a decision to leave the Democratic Party. It was an easy decision. I had been a Democrat for 11 years. I voted for Dukakis when I was a committed leftist. But, later, when I became a pro-life conservative, there was no room for me in the party. So I became a Republican and also joined the NRA. I've been a straight shooter ever since. Excuse me if that last line sounded heterosexist. I’m a work in regress....
