The whole system is corrupt. $300,000 is ridiculous no matter who is fitting the bill.

I'm sorry for the loss of your son. But don't you see something fundamentally corrupt about a system where the cost of treating a sick boy is 240 TIMES more than what the median average income is? Obamacare might not be the solution, but we cannot keep going as we are now.

Both Australia and British 12yo children have lower instances of decayed, missing or filled teeth than the USA. Britain is actually the best of the OECD nations! source: http://www.economist.com/node/15060097?subjectid=7933596&story_id=15060097

That barely changes the substance of my argument, nor does it dilute the evidence I presented. Changing the infant mortality methodology would just bring the USA in line with the other western free-market democracies mentioned in that paper.

Australia still has a healthy and competitive Private health care industry. You even get a tax cut for choosing a private option! So you do have choice. The government option ensures that costs are kept low as no-one will pay for the private option unless they offer a tangible advantage. The public option exists as an efficient and effective safety net. It's a system that works and has worked for a long time. I imagine that Canada and the UK are not much different.

Alright, I'll use Healthcare in Australia as an example (I've lived there for a few years now)
