I absolutely agree. It doesn't matter how well organized your thoughts or facts are, if you take a conservative stance it immediately becomes personal/racist against Obama and the merits of the topic never get discussed. It is sickening!
The problem is that they are attempting to teach those sorts of things in schools and are failing miserably because these lessons are totally inappropriate material for schools. They should be taught in the home. The school should have standards that kids either measure up to in terms of character or they get the boot until they have such character. We adults are the ones who have bought the I'm OK you're OK ocean front vista in Nevada. We let the schools become what they are largely through our apathy. Question is, what are we going to do about it?

Another instance of the O-Man's totally failed foreign policy. We hold no credibility anywhere in the world (How's that Snowden issue with Russia working out for you , Mr. President?) least of all in the Middle East where were despised but a least respected. now even that grudging respect is gone. This Obama cat will be one hard act to follow. No one will be able to clean up his mess without getting it all over themselves as well.
"pursuing' was intended. Fat fingers on the keyboard again. Sorry folks!
I'm not one to over glamorize days gone by. However it must be said that in previous eras there was far more value placed on individuals over possessions. Jefferson didn't view education as merely a means to an end. Being educated was in itself the reward because it made for people of better character. Today education is only as valuable as the stuff it enables one to buy. With the current administration giving away livelihoods, there is no real need for education and as we can see, few are actively persewing it!

I frightfully agree. This country is nuts, and it is NOT our politicians! They are simply the mirror image of our citizenry! When the majority of folks vote into power whichever cabaret act promises the most free stuff and can overlook blatant corruption just to keep that honey flowing...yeah, that's nuts. I am becoming more pessimistic regarding my fellow Americans daily and am more willing to give the govt. shills a free pass. We (collectively, even if not individually) voted the scoundrels in so let us eat the darned cake!

Where Are All The Kids?

Where are the kids? One of three places: 1. Sitting on their couches playing video games getting fatter and softer than any generation prior all the while thinking that mastering video games will somehow transform them into being the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs. 2. Holed up isolated and alone in their rooms virtually visiting absolute strangers they call friends whom they met on the internet all the while amassing a porn collection to rival Larry Flynt's and in increasing numbers posting their own naked bodies online. 3. In organized and structured activities so that they avoid their peers who are engaging in numbers one and two above and where they are protected from the kinds of adults one and two produce.
The entire liberal agenda is for the government to do something about the poor so they as individuals don't have to. What a pathetic plank.

The left is more appealing because they are characters. Even if you disagree with them, it is fun to watch them behave badly. Not Weiner badly, but rude, obnoxious, and so on. When a conservative does that he is reprimanded for his (or her) poor manners. What we need are candidates who 1) know what conservatism is, 2) who can articulate that message, and 3) who can do both in such as way as to come off as a pushy-yet-beloved character in a prime time TV slot. Instead, we get boring, droning, and snoring old men who are about as dynamic as standing water. Romney was about as much fun to watch in action as my toenails growing.
Spirit of capitalism? You got to be joking! Look: In schools, everything has been dumbed down so that the lowest common denominator students are on even ground as the exceptional and so can share in academic "success". In other words the top was pulled down, not the bottom expected to rise up (standards lowered). Now the push is to do the same economically. Capitalism states that the best, brightest and hardest working get the chance (not the guarantee, mind) to be successful. Rather than expect the lower economic group to adopt practices that make the upper economic classes successful, the levels of success must all be dragged down so the lowest are guaranteed a piece of it sans the work to make it happen. This nation, not its leaders but its CITIZENS don't want a spirit of capitalism environment. They want as much free stuff that others pay for as they can get.
