Several generations of this country's children have been effectively conditioned to not even be aware of the very special liberties that used to exist in this country. With mis-guided attempts to "protect" children from drugs and alcohol these generations have lived a life where their protections, as outlined in the Constitution, no longer exist. They readily accept intrusions of liberty from locker searches and drug testing to the gestapo tactics of the TSA. Combined with the "revisionist" history taught in schools and the virtual elimination of education about government they have no true understanding of those liberties for the simple reason that they have never had them.
