Civil War’s A-Brewin’

I vehemently disagree with Matt about one point in his otherwise excellent article: This profligate, illegitimate, unconstitutional government does NOT have initiating civil war in mind. They fear it and dismiss it as a bad dream. They know, if it did materialize, that targets would be painted in brightest colors on their own hides, and the bounty would be realizing the sweet satisfaction of discharging the righteous pent up indignation of the many freedom-loving people left in this nation. They may take false comfort in the fact that the military infrastructure "belongs" to them, but if figurative shots were fired at its citizens, the vast majority of the military infrastructure would suddenly become OURS overnight, ...

READ the supressed book: "Unintended Consequences" a blueprint for resisting governmental repression. Just writing it's name here puts me on a list.

Active Army 1981-2005. I imagine that units would obey initial orders to "assist law enforcement in taking down powerful terrorist cells." Once it became clear that the "terrorists" were actually the law-abiding mass of the American citizenry, however, units would cease to obey such orders--as a minimum. If pushed any further at that point, the chain of command and the bonds of discipline would dissolve. The US military, as an institution, would not obey such clearly unconstitutional orders.

For quite some time now, I've assumed that anyone expressing conservative, constitutionalist positions is on God knows how many lists. I've consciously decided, "Damn them and their lists." I like to think I'm keeping them up at night, continuously modifying their lists, charts, intel estimates, and PowerPoint briefing slides. ("Oh hell, he's bought another gun/more ammo/a different caliber bullet mold & reloading dies; posted 10 more comments on-line, read Drudge & TH again, and attended the movie '2016.' Do we have to reclassify him as a High Threat/High Value Target now? Guess I'll have to revise the darned stats on Louisiana again!" etc. etc.

Appearing in her rearview mirror, at the back windshield, were two menacing orbs of light floating amid ashen dusk. The guttural roar of a souped-up big block shook the tiny Volkswagen Rabbit as a van-load of inbred thugs lurched left and drew alongside her. A ponytailed passenger taunted inaudibly and blew foul kisses between crude hand gestures. He pointed for her to pull over as the van repeatedly swerved dangerously close.

Inside the car a man, asleep in the reclining passenger seat,...
