When "decent" changes made no sense whatsoever. If by "decent" you mean stupid, then, conservatism always been reactionary to "decent" changes. Switching from horses to cars was primarily for fiscal reasons. Initial purchase price for a car was maybe a little higher than a good horse, but, care and feeding was much more expensive than gas and oil. Not to mention that with all the cars coming on the road, chasing down the bad guys on a horse was impractical. Then, also, there was all the cr@p, literally, that horses left behind. Speaking of behinds, try not to think with yours....
Because you cannot (or, at least, certainly should not be able to,) "buy" the news" Conservatives don't dominate the "mainstream news media" because it is, and has been for decades, overrun by liberals out to "fix the world". Aided by a populace educated by the largest union in America (the National Education Association), and you have situation where most American's don't know truth, history, etc., haven't been questioning their news sources. (Though, thanks to talk radio, the internet and the election of the worst and least qualified president in history, this may be turning around.... I'm optimistic!)
Not "apparently", but OBVIOUSLY. Please provide an example of when conservatives have wrongly connected an act of murder/terror to a leftist or leftist organization.
I was taught by union members. It was the NEA (National Education Association, the largest labor union in the United States. My mother was a school teacher and a member of the NEA, so I was raised in a union household. Fortunately for me, I was gifted with two great works of literature in my early twenties: "The Gulag Archipelago" and "Atlas Shrugged". Those two books opened my eyes and forever changed my life. I can only hope you, and others like you, will see the light, and soon.
"Ooooh.... And I was using my WHOLE a$$...." Homer's whiney response to Bart, as he sulked away....
