Totally agree outajoint. The GOP constituency is the Producer class. The Dem constituency is the taker class. Any move by the GOP that doesn't defend the Producers is a loser for them. Even if the GOP caves to Obama the takers won't vote for them, and of course, having caved to Obama they will lose the support of the Producer class as well. They need to see that we are engaged in a Cold War. Best to win it before it turns hot.

The current state of the GOP brings to mind the surviving Marines in Aliens, with no shortage of demoralized hacks lamenting their inability to resist by channeling Private Hudson: “Maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events but we just got our a**** kicked, pal!”
