Any American citizen who actually counts on government to save him or her during a disaster is a fool. Always, always, always have food and water supplies adequate to sustain you for a minimum of two weeks. Always have some cash you can grab, because cash is king when everything breaks down. Always have the basics covered, like a few gallons of gas, a generator, first aid supplies, extra toilet paper. Duh, people. To sit around in 2012 and expect the government to take care of you is truly ignorant.

Following up on my post from earlier today, FEMA has run out of water. From Breitbart:

FEMA's vaunted "lean forward" strategy that called for advanced staging of supplies for emergency distribution failed to live up to its billing in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

In fact, the agency appears to have been completely unprepared to distribute bottled water to Hurricane Sandy victims when the storm hit this Monday. In contrast to its stated policy, FEMA failed to have any meaningful supplies of bottled water -- or any other supplies, for that...
