Simple as this. If the spending, that's spending not budget cuts, cuts don't take place before any and all new taxes, printing, or pork spending, they never take place at all. We're now at the point where complete default looks like an attractive alternative to what's currently going on

Early Sunday morning on ABC’s “This Week” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell delivered a simple yet important message to President Obama and his Democratic colleagues on the Hill: It’s time to tackle spending:

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell says that "absolutely the tax issue is behind us" as a result of the "fiscal cliff" deal and that it's now time to focus solely on confronting what he calls "our spending addiction."
