One lesson we're not learning well is there's a difference between manufacturing jobs, service sector jobs, and government jobs. Only manufacturing jobs create other jobs, and produce something that can be bought and sold in the economy, thus supporting the service and government jobs. Both Fraance and the US are fast regulating their manufacturing jobs to offshore locations. It's a world market out there, thus the owner's manuals for goods you buy are printed in multiple languages. If government slaps too much regulation on our manufactured goods they won't sell, but someone else's will. When government enters the manufacturing business we get results like Solendra and many others.
