End the Drug War

Keep up the good work Malcolm. I've been saying "legalize all drugs and control them" since 1960. I have never used an illegal drug in my life (I'm 82) and, as I have told my grandchildren, it's not my high morals that guide me, it's fear! I wont put something in my body that has been prepared (or corrupted) by somebody looking for a fast buck. My argument has been the same as yours. Prohibition did not work for alcohol and it is not working with drugs. All it does is make the dealers rich.

Didn't Prohibition teach anyone anything. This country should legalize all drugs and then CONTROL them. People who can afford illegal drugs still go to work every day. (Believe me. I know. I used to work with a lot of people, in the legal field, no less, that used drugs and still came to work every day.) It's the people who don't make much money that are out committing crimes to pay for their habit. If there was a place for them to buy their drugs cheaply, they could still go to work.
