This is precisely true and correct. It's also the counter to the prog-lib "nanny state" objectives and to enlightening their base of the dangers to their own long-term interests in accepting yesterday's entitlements and today's dependency, because the tomorrow will come when they realize that they've ceded their personal liberties and freedoms in exchange for government welfare and control.

In 1968, the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese Army insurgents rose up against the American and South Vietnamese forces in the Tet Offensive. They were wiped out, yet seven years later they were in control of the country. There are lessons there for us conservatives.
