I'm with Uber Dave. Fair tax or bust! Income taxes are stealing. Government sanctioned theft. I disagree with Mrs. Bachmann when she says that those that can afford more should pay more. Why? It is a contradiction to claim that in order for the government to be more "fair" that they should limit their claim on the hard work and talent of those they tax while also claiming that the most productive and highest achieving of us should pay more than those less successful. Also, if you claim that wealth belongs to those that earn it, what seemingly arbitrary standard is applied to decide how much the government can steal and why should they get to steal more from some than from others? the best one could claim is that they believe the government does, in fact, have first claim on at least some portion of any individual's earned wealth. So, they believe some of the same things as Obama, just to a lesser degree.
