No one is relying on anything but the voters. Bookies deal with a lot of money and tend to be right about the bets they place. While they could be wrong, they are giving a strong advantage to the likelihood that Obama will win as most information points to that being the case. Romney just has a really long way to go in the Electoral College. That's why it is a 72% chance. Romney could still win, but it's not as likely. Statistics for the win! Knowledge is power!
To help you out a bit there, the Affordable Care Act ruling came down to a last minute decision change by a Supreme Court judge. That's where that other 26% went and why it wasn't 100% that it would be struck down. There's always a chance. It's a bit different when talking about the entire electorate. the number of people needed to move Ohio and at least three or four other swing states is rather large. That's not to say that it's impossible. but that's why the likelihood is on the side of Obama. Statistics for the win. Knowledge is power!
Then every jobs report is questionable. These are the same samples done every month. Just because the numbers don't fit your narrative doesn't mean that they are false or cooked. You loved toting these numbers around when they were staying high. Now you have to suck it up when they start to get better. These numbers actually reflect economists estimations of improvement the economy, both in consumer confidence and in home prices. They are actually revised estimates for the past three months based on more concrete figures. The Bureau of Labor Statistics adjusts the numbers for past months based on more concrete numbers every month. Good luck w/ your conspiracy theories.
If you would like to know more about how labor statistics are calculated, you can do a little research both online and in your local library. It may help you understand how economists came to these conclusions, how there is no political control over those statistics, and how you're just wrong in your conspiracy theories. The more you know!
The story is misleading. She had her students register to vote. On the registration there was a pledge to vote for Obama, but they didn't have to sign that. Even if they had, you can't force a person to vote one way or the other. It's completely private and your choice. This was a personal pledge that was just dumb to put before her students. As I said, you can't force someone to vote for one candidate or the other. This article is misleading.
There is no such thing, butt stupid! Republican and Democratic backed groups are always out registering voters. Just because you are registering with that group does not mean you are "pledging" to vote for their candidate. Listen Darreld, you may not understand the democratic process, but don't accuse others of the ignorance that you are guilty of.
You're right, I was taught that ensuring the well being of the least among us was the best way to create a prosperous, stable nation. I learned that in my fancy college from a big fancy book. I also learned the definition of Communism and Socialism and the difference between the two. I also learned about intolerance and racism. I learned about the perils of ignorance and the importance of critical thinking. Would you like me to make a few observations?
You need quite the refresher in political science. Better yet, you need a basic civics course. Do you think about the words that you type or do you just put out what sounds most repugnant to you?
Yeah, because REAL Americans only vote for Romney. I think you are confused on the meaning of logic. If socialist is a person who thinks the government should ensure the welfare of the least among us, and you're the opposite, what does that make you? If that's a real American, we've got bigger problems than I every imagined.
