Total nonsense. Lots of kids delayed their first time until their late teens or into their 20's when they were married, or (at least engaged). There were only two major STD's and the infection rates were nowhere near what they are today. And today, there's a LOT parents and other adults can do to convince kids to delay the onset of sex until they have the capacity to support any child that might be conceived.

Parenting is tougher than it used to be. And if California is any indication, parents may soon have to fight for the right to exercise any influence--not to mention authority--over their children's sexual behaviors.

Last week news spread of a unique partnership between Planned Parenthood and the Los Angeles Unified School District--Planned Parenthood now runs a "health" clinic on the school grounds of Roosevelt High School, serving mostly teens from low-income, Latino families.
