'Atlas Shrugged'; Liberals Whined

For fiction it is accurate in its assessment of government leaders manipulating the system. Perhaps you liberals could heed some of Rand's advice or do you really want to propagate the moocher class into oblivion? Your actions say you do........

Perhaps the reason Debra put the book down was that has never met anyone with true convictions. Rand does not compromise, Rhinos do. Compromise, even a slight compromise of 1% will put you in the position that we find ourselves today. As for the part about it being a young person's book that is baloney. I first read it when I was 65, 4 times in all and rue the fact that I didn't read it when I was younger. Let's not forget that it is the best selling book of all time except the Bible. Are all of these books sold to the youth of America? But then again maybe I am an intellectual lightweight. If she didn't like the book say so but to slam this book is at best pseudo-intellectualism.

The High Price of Obama’s Amnesty

These two million extra illegal voters will cause the election to be thrown into the courts. This is part of the obama plan. Once in the courts he has the advantage. Rest assured that if the election is anywhere near close he will steal the election quicker than you can say Eric Holder.
There are three things one can do with money, spend it, save it, or invest it. All three help the economy. It is silly and counterproductive to collect taxes on an individual basis as opposed to a consumption tax. The Fair Tax puts money into Joe Six Pack's pockets and he will be mad when he learns about it. The Fair Tax brings back many industries here to the states because of no taxes at the wholesale level. Millions of jobs are created and trillions of overseas dollars come home, a stimulus that works. Why won't it pass you ask? It takes power away from congress and gives it to the people. By the way, The Fair Tax is revenue neutral, neither a tax decrease or increase. Read the Fair Tax book if you've got the guts to open your mind.

Capitalism Can Fix This Mess

bassboat Wrote: Aug 05, 2012 12:18 PM
This comment will soon be lost in cyberspace but I feel that it is important and may be picked up by someone. Capitalism is the answer, it needs to be taught in the schools grades 1-12. We are, or were, a capitalistic country and for it not to be taught is a travesty. Perhaps the private school area would take this project to their classes. It would elevate our people wether or not they were the owner of a business. They would at least understand what it took to run a business.

One thing is for sure after reading some of these responses. The moochers don't like the truth.

I am reading Atlas Shrugged for the 4th time in the last two years. It is amazing how Ayn Rand's foresight saw the catastrophe coming today. Our education system is as much to blame as congress. It, the education system, does not teach capitalism. How crazy is that? a nation built on capitalism. It should start in the first grade and continue all the way through the PhD level and not by theorists but by actual producers in the latter years. As for me I wish that the producers of the country would make a list of grievances and give congress 30 day to enact them into law or repeal whatever they passed into law. If congress didn't abide then the producers would go on strike for 30 days, lay off their employees for 30 days while congress slept.

America, the Law-crazed

bassboat Wrote: Jul 26, 2012 1:55 AM
One more law, no lawyers in DC or the state capitals. I am convinced that lawyers are the biggest problem in America. I would rather be tried before a jury of my PEERS, not some welfare queen, without laws and let common sense decide my fate.
Alabama was left out. The state senate and legislature in 2010 was won by the Republicans for the first time since 1876. One of the first things that they did was quit taking the union dues out of state checks. Union enrollment fell precipitiously. We are a right to work state also so the unions are on the rocks here in Alabama. There are still some left, one is too many, but they are going away as their tactics are killing the companies that have to put up with them.

How Steve Jobs Jobbed The Left

As a person Jobs was a jerk. As an entrepreneurer he was brilliant. As for control and taxes he did exactly what every business wishes that it had the ability to do.

Why the Hiss Case Still Matters

Moochers vs Producers, the usual controversy. Moochers always lose in the long run but unfortunately they have a long period of freebies. Why is this? Education. In our education system we produce moochers. Teachers are today pampered moochers and look to the state for every freebie that their union can come up with. It is time to teach capitalism and entrepreneurship at every level by non-tenured teachers. And yes, teach moocherism and how works or should I say, doesn't work. I know what the ourcome will be, an economic exposion to the upside with an elevated standard of living.
