My Vote

Charles, The election of 2008 was a choice of two disasters and you recognized it as did I. I voted for McCain but said in November of 2008 that obama being elected was probably the best thing that could happen for the conservative movement. McCain would have reached across the aisle and put programs into place that would have been worse than obama's since they were bi-partisan. What a joke, bad legislation is bad legislation. Anyway, I can slightly see your reason for voting for obama, but even you will acknowledge, if only to yourself, that it was for the wrong reason. Would your grandparents vote for a socialist because he was black?
My problem is not so much with the editorial staff at the Times, they have the option to show their ignorance, but with the advertisers of the Times. It is time for them to say enough is enough. If nothing else the editorial staff should have at least a 50-50 conservative voice and then let the readers decide. That is the trouble with liberals, they want the power to tell you how to live and freedom is just a word in the dictionary.

If a group of people do not want to play with you why do you feel compelled to make them do things like play with you just because you are bigger and have more people? You apparently do not give a rip about freedom.

I thought that tax bills didn't need a super majority to bust a filibuster.

Why limit secession to Europe? The 10th amendment gave all states the right to secede if they found that they could not morally abide by a federal law. We have trashed that part of the Constitution like we have many parts of it. The KGB predicted that the US would break up into 6 different countries about 7-8 years ago. Why is it that we say that people in Georgia could secede from Russia but people in our Georgia cannot secede from the US? We speak out of both sides of our mouths when we speak about freedom. Free people is what we should all aspire to and quit allowing the parasites in government to take our money and tell us what kind of commodes, shower heads, etc that we can have. Is everyone not tired of paying for turtle tunnels?

MM is spot on with her article. I too was a conservative youth with no place to get opinions until I saw William Buckley on the Firing Line. He was the only one that made sense to me, the rest Cronkite included, were a bunch of liberals that really turned me off.
You are trying to interject logic into the dialogue.

Hoover Dam: Worst Investment in History

If government spent the money it was wasted, history proves that government does not allocate resources properly. The 45 million people would have moved elsewhere where there was water. What have those areas been deprived of by this misallocation of people? What lower standard of living hace the people of the southwest had to endure caused by this influx of 45 million people? Unintended consequences are always the result of government intervention.

Your comment reminds of people who say they don't want to be bothered by the facts and end up in a big mess. If you don't stand up then you will pay the price.

For fiction it is accurate in its assessment of government leaders manipulating the system. Perhaps you liberals could heed some of Rand's advice or do you really want to propagate the moocher class into oblivion? Your actions say you do........
