In response to:

What Happens When Looters and Moochers Outnumber Workers and Producers?

In other countries who have been subjected to the looters and moochers, e.g. Africa countries, it simply gets worse, and when there is nothing more to be stolen from the man in the street, then the rabble like packs of hyenas start to run amok. The government will continue with their thieving ways and then a country like the United States of America will bail them out with billions. it is worse now because we have the ayatollah barack hussein obama who is even giving away our land and our islands - what can I say... Enough - the cancer is from within

"Cancer within" - I'm afraid I must agree with you, and the cancer has been with us a long time. In 1936, the American people were asked, "How do you like your experiment with socialism" They replied, "We like it fine." In 1964 they were asked "Are you sure?" They replied, "Yes, we're sure." Small wonder that the two big parties haven't offered an alterntive to statism since. Small wonder that any candidate who calls for a return to Constitutionally-limited government is derided as a crank and a kook.

You guys posted this to the wrong column. This was about the drunk guy, not about the cancer within.

I defy you to find much of any common thread in this column. I think Dan wrote a little, watched some of the Olympics, wrote some more, got a snack, wrote, took a nap, wrote, and so on.

The all-time, most-viewed post on this blog is this set of cartoons showing how the welfare state begins and how it eventually becomes an unsustainable mess.

The great Chuck Asay has a cartoon that takes the next step, showing what happens when the looters and moochers who ride in the wagon get pitted against those who are pulling the wagon.

Since I’m not a Romney fan (for a bunch of reasons outlined here), I would have preferred if the cartoon didn’t imply anything about the current election and instead focused on the rhetorical question...
